So the question is, why does the 1903 build not request user credentials? Is it a windows bug in 1903 or/and something cups can fix? does it work in your case? Like you said adding is no problem but as soon as a new job gets posted windows does not send any credentials.

Since upgrading to Mavericks (did a clean install, so not sure if Mavericks is the culprit per se) whenever I attempt to print to a networked printer (I am the lone mac in a Windows environment) I get the error "Hold for Authentication". I get a printer error when trying to print 32 bit software like excel,etc.
